About the event
Literary Reading
Guest of the 37 Gallery Literary Series:
Győző Ferencz, poet, literary historian.
Not objective, not textbook-like, but rather amorous, passionate, full of inner conflicts and wounds. On the occasion of the recently published Collected Poems (Jelenkor Publisher, 2016), you can meet Győző Ferencz, poet and literary historian, who edited the new volume. We will talk with him about the poet's art and life. The book contains 100 new poems in annotated presentation. "There is no clear, one-sided interpretation of Ágnes Nemes Nagy's work. Different viewpoints have emerged regarding whether the newly released works in Collected Poems were born in the spirit of Ágnes Nemes Nagy's already-known art or reveal a new aspect of the poetess. Kiss Noémi emphasized the importance of academic evaluation: According to Ágnes Nemes Nagy's own admission, she aspired to objective lyricism, as stated in the essay collection titled 'Látkép, gesztenyefával' ('Landscape with Chestnut Tree'). At the same time, she nuanced the picture of how the poet approached such categorizations: 'So, I lovingly and gently hand over this objective lyricism as a box to the critics; use it in good health. It's good in the house.'"
The host of the evening: Dr. Andrea Duba, active analyst, therapist, and Noémi Kiss, writer.
The event is supported by the Society of Writers.
