About the event
Gáspár György continues the story he has already started in his Machine series (2022), which juxtaposes his personal life events with human functioning and the mechanics of various tools. The father image, which Gáspár has already dissected on several occasions, is also the leitmotif of Handyman, where not only his unprocessed childhood impressions but also questions of his own fatherhood are interspersed. After the subtle monochrome world of the previous series, he returns to the strong colours that characterised his early work, framed by forms that are structured along geometric rules and sometimes organised. The drawings displayed alongside the sculptures offer a fascinating insight into the various stages of the artist's creative process, allowing visitors to explore the artist's thought process and visual traces of the sculptures' creation.
